‘Art about displacement may focus on the journey itself, the condition of being in transit between places with different languages, customs, material culture, and ideas - a condition theorist Homi Babha calls “in-betweenness”. Artists might explore the meaning and location of border, boundaries, and zones of transition. They might consider the place left behind (there) or the adopted place (here) or their interaction.
